  • 4v4 play with no goalkeeper
  • Field Size: 60 yards x 35 yards
  • Goal Size: 4' x 4'
  • Two 12-minute halves
  • No faceoff
  • No offside penalties, players can roam the entire field
  • There must be one attempted pass before a player can shoot on goal
  • No body checking but some contact is allowed
  • Only stick checks permissed are lift checks, poke checks and downward stick checks below both players shoulders
  • Helmets, shoulder pads, arm guards, lacrosse gloves, mouth guard required
  • Soft lacrosse balls

  • 6v6 play, 1 goalkeeper and 5 field players
  • Field Size: 60 yards x 35 yards
  • Goal Size: 5' x 5'
  • Two 20-minute halves
  • Faceoffs to start each half
  • No body checking but some contact is allowed
  • Only stick checks permitted are lift checks, poke checks, downward stick checks below both players shoulders
  • Lacrosse face-off rules for this age group include no players releasing from wing area
  • No offsides
  • Helmets, shoulder pads, arm guards, lacrosse gloves, mouth guard required, protective cups suggested
  • NOCSAE lacrosse balls

  • 10v10 or 8v8
    • For 10v10, each team has 1 Goalkeeper, 3 defensemen, 3 midfielders and 3 attackmen.
      • Each team must keep at least four players, including the goalie in its defensive half of the field and three in its offensive half. 
      • The three midfielders can roam the entire field.  (A defensemen may advance to the offensive half of the field if a midfielder remains in the defensive half.)
      • Max of 4 Long Poles on the field
    • For 8v8, each team has 1 Goalkeeper, 2 defensemen, 3 midfielders and 2 attackmen.
      • Each team must keep at least three players, including the goalie in its defensive half of the field and 2 in its offensive half. 
      • The two midfielders can roam the entire field.  (A defensemen may advance to the offensive half of the field if a midfielder remains in the definsive half.)
      • Max of 3 Long Poles on the field
  • Field Size: 10v10 - 110 yards x 60 yards, 8v8 - 60-70 yards x 35-45 yards
  • Goal Size: 6' x 6'
  • Two 22-minute halves
  • Faceoffs to start each half
  • Faceoffs with 1 player releasing from wing area for each team
  • Helmets shoulder pads, arm guards, lacrosse gloves, mouth guard required, protective cups suggested
  • NOCAE lacrosse balls
  • Some body contact allowed, but body checking is illegal
  • Limited stick checking with only lift checks, poke checks and stick checks below an opponent's shoulders.

  • Two 22-minute halves

  • Faceoffs with 1 player releasing from wing area for each team
  • Helmets shoulder pads, arm guards, lacrosse gloves, mouth guard required, protective cups suggested
  • NOCAE lacrosse balls
  • Changes from 12 to 14U
    • Full stick checking legal, but no one-handed checks
    • Body checking legal, but no take-out checks

  • If the ball or a player in possession of the ball goes out of bounds, the other team is awarded possession of the ball.
  • If the ball goes out of bounds after an unsuccessful shot on goal, the player nearest to the ball when and where it goes out of bounds is awarded possession.
  • An attacking player cannot enter the crease around the goal, but may reach in with his stick to scoop a loose ball.
  • All contact must occur from the front or side, above the waist and below the shoulders.
